I've never written a review for a product before but after purchasing this remote for my 92 year old grandma this past Christmas I had to write about our success. I was worried it wouldn't work with my grandma's older sony box tv. But the second time we tried did the trick. I ordered it the night of December 23rd, thinking it would be shipped after Christmas. I asked the nursing home nurses if they had seen a remote like it before and they said they hadn't. It was shipped Christmas eve morning and I got it in the mail 4 days later, despite the blizzard the had everyone snowed in for days. First of all, the shipping was so fast. The first time we tried to program it we couldn't get it.
The remote itself is exactly as described. It's big, simple and works great. Now my grandma is flipping through channels where before she would get stuck watching a certain channel not knowing how to change it with her complicated universal remote. I highly recommend it for the elderly.
It's as simple as it gets. Perfect for elderly or any individual with a motor-function-related handicap (or even for the occassionally vision-challenged). Setup is a breeze and teaching the intended recipient to use the device is just as easy. This remote is to control a Vizio 32" LCD tv.It would be nice to have a remote just like this which would control cable boxes, but I guess you can't have it all when it comes to electronics.
Whether their vision is weak or they are technologically un-inclined or both, my gramma loved having one of these for each TV. Super easy to set up, you can use other remotes on the same TV, a great solution for a major problem for seniors. HIGHLY recommended.Anton BirdSeattle, WA
I bought this remote for my Grandfather, who has low vision and is shakey. He was having a lot of trouble with regular remotes, but this one is plain and simple. It worked as soon as I took it out of the package. My Grandmother, who has low vision and memory problems, could even use it, but Grandpa hides it from her.
I wish it did work, but it won't for my LCD television so I'm screwed.
